Vineyard: Sourced from vines situated in the AOC of Gevry-Chambertin
Viticulture: The vineyard is farmed using biodynamic practices and all grapes are harvested by hand, sorted once in the vineyard and again at the winery. Up to 10% of the crop may be rejected.
Vinification: Vinification with traditional methods, open vat fermentation using native yeasts, 30% stem inclusion and minimal use of sulpher.
Aging: The wine is aged in French barriques of which 30-75% is new depending on vintage.
Production: 200 cases
Notes: Trapet's young Gevrey vines create a classic Pinot with red cherry fruit and lovely soil understones. Drinks well young but has the structure to stick around for a while!
Bright medium red. Red fruits, smoky underbrush and flowers on the nose. Silky-sweet on the palate, offering lovely spine and cut to the flavors of red cherry, redcurrant, spices and cedary oak. Finishes with a positive tart edge. A terrific Bourgogne.
