Borgo del Mandorlo

Puglia, Italy

At a Glance
  • Full-bodied DOC Primitivo with dense fruit
  • Harvested in the first weeks of September
  • Partial Ripasso, or drying of grapes, to increase concentration and complexity

From our friends at Botter, the Borgo del Mandorlo Primitivo is sourced from top vineyards in the DOC Manduria zone - home of Italy's best Primitivo vineyards. At harvest, some of the grapes are given a little Ripasso, or drying on racks, to increase the intensity and concentration of the wine.

Whereas our Tratturi Primitivo shows off the lighter, fresher side of Primitivo, the Borgo del Mandorlo shows the exuburant, lush side with ripe cherry and plum flavors with notes of spice and chocolate.
