The vineyards for Tournefeuille are located in the appellation of Lalande-de-Pomerol, but are extremely well-situated on the border with Pomerol, adjacent to the famed Chateau Latour a Pomerol. About half of the vineyards are located at the top of the hill on the plateau on gravelly soils with the remainder on hillsides of predominantly clay. This combination gives the wines power and structure, but with finesse and a fine core of minerality.

Lalande de Pomerol 2007 The wine is made from 70% Merlot and 30% Cab Franc. The majority of the vineyards are 30 year or older. The wine is fermented in concrete tanks, and then aged for 12 months in barriques with about 1/3 new oak used.

Stylistically, there are floral notes to complement the dark cassis fruit, dark chocolate and spice notes. There is also a silky texture and fine-grained tannins that all make for a lovely well-balanced wine.
